Why Corazon Imaging?

Corazon Imaging is a mobile healthcare start-up offering a new heart disease diagnostic pathway with advanced, proactive and non-invasive outpatient technology. Our testing program is overseen by John Rumberger, M.D., Ph.D., one of the world’s top cardiologists and a leading authority on Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA).

CCTAs are a safe, cost-effective, reliable and more accurate alternative to commonly used cardiac imaging methods. FFR-CT uses three-dimensional CCTA imaging to measure the severity and location of obstruction in diseased and narrowed coronary arteries — the origin of cardiac symptoms like shortness of breath and chest pain.

Unlike other cardiac testing methods, this diagnostic pathway has a less than 1% likelihood of missing heart disease.

Corazon Imaging has an ambitious vision: to bring world-class, affordable cardiac imaging to all Michiganders. FFR-CT usage is limited in Michigan, and we are making this technology accessible statewide, giving patients and providers in a wholly underserved state the resources needed to address heart disease and reduce healthcare costs by 30-50%.

When cardiovascular disease is diagnosed and treated early, patients can go on to live long, fulfilling lives. Yet the current clinical pathway misses 70% of patients who will have a heart attack. Additionally, traditional functional cardiac imaging can lead to 55% false positive results leading to unnecessary invasive procedures. Corazon Imaging has the technology to identify heart disease earlier and more accurately than conventional imaging and help prevent a patient’s first heart attack.
